Cedro participates in Colombiatex 2023
Cedro Têxtil starts 2023 with an increase in exports. In 2022, 10% of production went to the foreign market, representing a 2% growth against the previous year. The items worth mentioning include the “Workwear” line, which accounted for a 40% increase in sales in 2022 compared to 2021. Cedro’s main trade partners are the Latin American countries, particularly Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia and Chile.
In order to strengthen its presence in the international scenario, Cedro will participate in the 35th edition of “Colombiatex de las Américas,” to be held from January 24 to 26 in Medellín, Colombia. This trade fair, which is the most important of its segment in Latin America, expects to gather some 500 exhibitors and over 10,000 buyers over the three days of the event. This year, the main theme is “circular economy,” and the fair organizers intend to encourage the commitment of the textile industry with a sustainable and more aware fashion willing to take care of the environment.
According to Cedro’s export manager Alessandra Leal, 2023 is the year of the official resumption of the industry’s activities after the pandemic, and it is very important to be present in events such as Colombiatex. “‘Colombiatex de las Americas’ is an excellent opportunity for us to meet our customers. In 2022, Cedro recorded an increase in the quantity of products exported compared to 2021, and our largest foreign market is Latin America. In this edition of the fair, we will present the “Generations” collection, which includes 5 new vintage Denim items. The pieces have a contemporary modeling that is inspired by futurism and the metaverse. Besides, of course, of the “Workwear” line, our main export product,” she said.
Cedro plays a prominent role in the domestic production of jeans, being the largest manufacturer of “Workwear” fabrics in Brazil. The line’s items are the best-selling products abroad, especially the FR line, which is a flame retardant. Produced in partnership with Rhodia and being the only product in Latin America with the Proban technology, the main characteristic of the FR line is its resistance and the guarantee of permanent protection against heat from radiation, fire and electricity being used in the production of industrial uniforms.
